For our 9th Annual Adventure Bear sailing we return to the ship and itinerary that was one of our most successful and well attended cruises. Each island we visit has its own “personality” and flavor.

Tortola was not on our last sailing so we look forward to returning to the British Virgin Islands. Some of the best snorkel and scuba can be found here. Dominica and Grenada (the Spice Island) are both special and known for lush tropical mountainous terrain with hot Sulphur springs, mud bath, and beautiful hiking trails. St Maarten has always been a favorite for the “boys” partly because of one of the best nude beaches in the Caribbean. You will just love Orient Bay Beach! Barbados is the largest Caribbean island with a distinct British Colonial flare. Oh and some of the best beaches too. We just love this itinerary.

Rest assured that each island has fully recovered from past hurricanes and tourism is flourishing once again.

Celebrity is considered on of the very best cruise lines. You will see a European décor on the ship as well as outstanding cuisine and service in all dining rooms. One thing we love about the Summit is that it is a smaller and much more manageable ship. In addition with Celebrity you may have the chance to get a complimentary beverage package (liquor included) or a shipboard credit.

Join in the fun with the friendliest cruise group of Bears, cubs, and friends. All are welcome.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

One of the largest islands in the Eastern Caribbean, Puerto Rico’s landscape encompasses mountains, underground caves, coral reefs, white-sand beaches and an incredibly massive rain forest that supplies fresh water to most of the island. At the same time San Juan, the capital of the commonwealth, is a big city with a bustling business district, glitzy resorts and casinos, as well as one of the most stunning examples of colonial life in the Western world. San Juan is also known for a very active gay nightlife and a gay beach.

Tortola, BVI

Tortola is the largest of the British Virgin Islands. Here you will find exquisite white powder beaches as well as amazing snorkel, scuba and deep water fishing. There is also a rugged mountainous interior. Along Main Street, you will find many international stores as well as quaint pubs and taverns. Enjoy Tortola or visit near by Norman’s Island and Jost Van Dyke.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

When the Spanish closed their colonial fort on St. Maarten in 1648, a few Dutch and French soldiers hid on the island and decided to share it. Soon after, the Netherlands and France signed a formal agreement to split St. Maarten in half, as it is today. Philipsburg displays its Dutch heritage in its architecture and landscaping. The island offers endless stretches of beach, beautiful landscapes and great shopping. A favorite excursion is to Orient Beach Bay, an exquisite beach with a clothing optional section.

Roseau, Dominica

Access the largely untouched interior of Dominica via an extensive network of nature and hiking trails, which will take you on an odyssey through the lush landscape past waterfalls, clear-running streams, and bubbling hot springs. At this lush island we can visit hot mineral springs and mud baths as well as refreshing waterfalls.

Bridgetown, Barbados

This very historic island has great British Colonial architecture and  spectacular sandy beaches. Snorkel on reefs teeming with tropical fish. Enjoy the rope swing, sun tanning or walking on the beach. Find secluded beaches with caves and dramatic boulder formations.

St. George’s, Grenada

From the moment you set your eyes on St. George’s, you’ll see why it’s considered one of the most picturesque ports in the Caribbean. Lush vegetation, mountainous terrain and colorful colonial architecture make up the landscape. And if the sights don’t wow your senses, the aroma will. Grenada is also filled with spice trees and is a leading source of many different spices, including nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and cocoa.

  • 1. Payments: Celebrity Cruises will require a deposit of $250.00. Final payment will be due August 1, 2019 and will be automatically charged to your credit card unless you notify me in advance to use a different form of payment. Any and all check payments should be made payable to Cruise Designs.
  • 2. Documents: Each person must have a valid U.S. passport, a passport card or an enhanced driver’s license. Canadian and residents of other countries will need to check with their consulates to see if a visa will be required.
  • 3. Pre-cruise hotel: Our host hotel will be the Marriott Resort on Ashford Avenue conveniently located on the beach as well as Ashford Avenue. Here in the Condado, you will find many restaurants as well as easy access to gay bars. Our group rate is $209.00 daily plus tax & resort fee. To make reservations, please click on the link Book your group rate for Adventure Bears Room Block or you may call 800 – 223 – 6388 and ask for the Adventure Bears rate.
  • 4. Cashless Society: When checking at the pier you will need to leave a credit card imprint. Anything you purchase on the ship will be charged to your cabin account. Cash is not accepted anywhere except the casino. Should you not have a credit card, you will need to leave cash deposit from which you may draw.
  • 5. Ship Board Activities: The first night of every cruise we host a welcome cocktail party exclusively for our guests. This is the first time the entire group will have a chance to meet and mingle. We will make many useful announcements. Other private events are also planned for the week. Full details of our daily itinerary will be made available to you upon check in on the ship.
  • 6. Dining: We have confirmed a block of tables together at 8:30PM each evening. Since the tables are ours, you may feel free to move from table to table each evening. We encourage this so that you get the chance to get to know as many people as possible. There are two formal nights which means sport coat and tie. Dining the rest of the evenings is casual such as slacks and shirt or polo type shirt. All meals in the buffet are always casual. You may request other dining times if you wish but you will not be with the rest of the group. We find it a great bonding experience if the entire group dines together.
  • 7. Room Mates: If you need a roommate you may choose either the least expensive inside or balcony cabins. We match people up based upon cabin type requested. You will be given the opportunity to find a roommate on your own up until July 15. After that roommates will be assigned. Unfortunately you will not have a chance to interview prospect roommates. Assignments are made right before final payment is due. We do our very best to find you a roommate but are not guaranteed.
  • 8. Shore Excursions: The ship will offer many excursions to purchase. We however, will offer at least two or three of our own including a chartered catamaran for swimming, snorkeling and fun. Our trips are usually lower priced and include more than what the ship will offer. Information regarding our excursions will be sent to you about 60 days prior to sailing.
  • 9. Gratuities: A daily charge of $12.95 per person will be added to your cabin account to serve as tips to porters, waiters, cabins stewards, and pool boys.
  • 10. Getting to the Ship: Fly into San Juan, Puerto Rico airport and try to arrive before 12 PM. It is quickest and least expensive to take a taxi to the pier. Cost is about $28 and is a 20 minute drive. If you stay at our host hotel we will offer transfer service to the pier for a nominal fee. When flying home try to find a flight around 11AM.
